The Hudson Sports Complex (HSC), which is slated to open at the end of this month, is proud to announce that Warwick resident and soccer star Daniel Dunn will join their team. Dunn has played and trained all across the United States and throughout Europe and South America. He has made a career for himself in sports management and has served in various administrative roles across the New York City soccer landscape.

Dunn is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School and SUNY Cortland and is a Warwick Soccer Hall of Fame inductee. In his career on the SUNY Cortland men’s soccer team, Dunn served for two years as team captain and was also selected to All-Conference and All-Region teams.

“It is very exciting to have a project of this nature come to the Warwick Valley. I’ve been lucky enough to join the Hudson Sports team and can’t wait to get things going!” exclaimed Dunn.

“There is no limit to the potential of this complex and venture. Being a resident of this town and community for my entire life, I’m proud to be a part of such a great organization and can’t wait to see what is in store.” Dunn went on to explain that the Hudson Sports Complex has a great sense of community and a clear vision for the future, which he says will align perfectly with the community of Warwick to provide endless opportunities, through sport, for years to come. Dunn, a former member of the Warwick varsity soccer team, was twice selected as a first team All-County All-Star.

“We’re very lucky to have found Dan so quickly. We have a lot of national and international experience, but we definitely want to bring local expertise to the Hudson Sports Complex,” commented Fox Soccer Academy CEO Erik Stover.

“With Fox Soccer Academy, we have a world-class curriculum designed by coaches and players with years of experience in Europe, including Christian Fuchs. We’ve also hired great coaches locally like Danny Szetela, who has played in Spain, Italy, Major League Soccer, and with the New York Cosmos. [Szetela] will bring his local experience and his passion for Warwick to our programs,” Stover said.

The winter programs will run on Sundays from Sun., Jan. 27 to Sun., Mar. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. for six- to eight-year-olds, and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon for nine- to 11-year-olds. A program for 12 to 16-year-olds will be held weekly, from Wed., Jan. 30 to Wed., Mar. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Stover noted, “These programs are meant for top tier talent in their respective age groups. All players that sign up should be at least in the travel level of competition. When we get to spring time, we will add more programs for entry level and recreational players.”

The HSC is an indoor and outdoor sports and recreation complex located at 122 State School Rd. in Warwick. The facility will provide such services as individual and group skills and strength training, as well as space for team practices, games, and tournaments for soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, and football.

Owners Christian and Raluca Fuchs plan to focus on professional quality training, bringing in athletes, trainers, and coaches from all over the world. Christian Fuchs, an English Premier League player for Leicester City, and his wife own several other Academy locations in New York and Europe.
