It was a morning full of smiles as well as excitement as over 130 participants stepped onto our beautiful Wickham Woodlands campus ready to take on the 5K course! Everyone prepped with some stretching, water, Gatorade, fruit, and even some pep-talks to get pumped up! By 9:05AM this past Saturday, the runners lined up and the race began!
Although the majority of the leaves had already fallen and the temperature was below 40 degrees to start the race, the energy level was through the roof! We had participants ranging from 5 years to the age of retirement and everything in between and despite these differences, everyone had the same goal: have some fun while raising money for the wonderful organization of Beautiful People!
It was great to see couples, friends, and families get together and test their fitness in the name of charity. We even had our very own, Jessica, run in the race! We also loved seeing some familiar faces who take part in many of our activities at the Complex!
There were certainly some competitive runners looking to perform at a certain time while others ran at their own pace. The course was a fun one as the participants were tested with some slight hills and turns, but it was a course that everyone could enjoy. We loved seeing all the dedicated runners visit our Complex for a wonderful morning in the brisk air here in Warwick, NY!
The best part of the day had to be all the smiles and spirit that filled the entire campus. We even saw some teamwork and encouragement to finish as fast as possible which is always great to see! At the end of the day, we were so proud to co-host this lovely event in association with Beautiful People and are looking forward to many more events like this in the future.
We would like to thank all of those who came out to participate in the Fall Fun Run and for supporting Beautiful People's mission. We would also like to thank all the volunteers and staff members from Beautiful People, especially Holly Borzacchiello and Mary Williams, for organizing such a wonderful morning! Congrats to all the runners and we look forward to having you back at Hudson Sports Complex and Wickham Woodlands Park in the near future!
